Course Objectives: 
This course is conducted with the collaboration of the departments of Physiology, Anatomy, Biochemistry, Histology and Embryology. The course aims to familiarize the student with the functions and principles of gastrointestinal system and metabolic function
Course Content: 

 

The course includes  topics such as Development of Crown, root and teeth, histology of teeth, periodontium, oral mucosa, salivary glands, temporomandibular joint and oral mucosa, Scalp and Face, Infratemporal and pterygopalatine fossa,temporomandibular joint and muscles of mastication, oral cavity, intraoral structures and the salivary gland, gastrointestinal system anatomy, Lipogenesis, Triacylglycerol synthesis, Lipid transport in blood, Function of liver in lipid metabolism, protein catabolism and urea cycle, Lipid soluble vitamins, Water soluble vitamins, Macrominerals and microminerals, Salivary Secretions, Gastointestinal Motility and Nervous Control, Digestion and Absorption in the Gastrointestinal System, Functions of Liver and Gallbladder, Body temperature and its regulation and Digestion of carbohydrates, proteins, fats.
